Solus Counseling Foundation

Compassionate, biblical, Christ-centered Care

Our
Approach

"And his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor..." (Isaiah 9:6)

Life can be complicated. At times we carry burdens that feel confusing, painful, or overwhelming. Christian counseling is a place where you can slow down, be heard, and begin to explore how God meets us in those places with wisdom, hope, and healing.

At Solus Counseling, we believe that Jesus Christ is the Wonderful Counselor who knows us completely and cares for us deeply. Our approach combines compassionate listening with a gradual exploration of how the presence and truth of Christ bring clarity, restoration, and a pathway toward flourishing.

What kind of counseling are you seeking?

We offer Christian counseling for individuals, couples, ministry leaders, and families who desire support in their emotional, relational, and spiritual lives.

  • M.A. Christian Counseling, Reformed Theological Seminary Charlotte (2024)

  • M.Div. Reformed Theological Seminary Orlando (2017)

  • B.A. English Literature, Yonsei University (2009)

John is a Christian counselor who finds deep joy in witnessing God’s work of healing and restoration in the lives of individuals and couples. His counseling is grounded in the conviction that in every season of life—whether joyful, confusing, or painful—Christ offers the presence, love, and wisdom we need.

In counseling sessions, John seeks to create a safe and calming space where people can speak honestly about their struggles. He approaches each person with gentleness, attentive curiosity, and non-judgmental listening.

John’s areas of interest include:

  • spiritual anxiety and depression

  • recovery from spiritual abuse

  • cultural identity and immigrant family dynamics

  • marital conflict and marital enrichment

  • premarital and pre-engagement counseling

  • divorce recovery

  • parenting challenges

  • church relational conflicts

  • care for pastors and ministry leaders

Because John is also involved in church planting, he deeply values the role that healthy counseling plays in strengthening Christian communities. He is also available to speak with churches about seminars, training, and counseling culture development for ministry teams.

In-person, online, and phone sessions are all available.
